The 6 Year Student Government (6YSG) is tasked with representing the students of the 6 Year Medical Program at the Jagiellonian University Medical College in Kraków, Poland. We work to improve the overall student experience and the standard of education while allowing for the largest amount of feedback and cooperation between students and faculty.
6YSG is made up of class representatives that are elected annually by the student body. Our constitution was approved by the UJ CM School Council along with the student body in 2012 (full copy). Since then, our government, which is student-run, has greatly evolved from a smaller unofficial initiative into what it is today. The Executive Council is determined by an internal election. 6YSG holds monthly meetings in order to discuss and vote on pertinent issues as well as follow up on current academic and social affairs.
One of many academic tasks that 6YSG fulfills is working alongside the Student Affairs Committee (SAC), a group of department chairs and faculty heads. 6YSG and SAC meet semi-regularly and together are tasked with improving the academic program whilst working towards the betterment of both the academic and social life of the School of Medicine in English UJ CM.
6YSG continuously encourages non-council members to provide feedback in order to represent the student body in the most effective way possible. We constantly work on numerous projects which help make the students’ learning experience in Kraków, more pleasant, productive, and rewarding.
